Before I went to Tamworth this year, there was a lot of buzz about a young man called Anthony Taylor. “Kaz, you have to hear this guy, he is the real deal.” my friends cried. Of course, they were right. I not only saw and heard Anthony once, but several times, he was appearing with many of my favourite acts, and he was indeed, the real deal. Anthony can not only sing like a classic country music man he can also play the guitar like one. He played with the best at Tamworth, and I thought that legends like Mike Carr and Daniel Thompson’s eyes were going to pop out at times when he sang or played a tune at their Lunchtime shows. This humble, incredibly talented young man not only had his peers and heroes talking but the fans were talking too. “He takes you back.” One old cowboy told me. “Blokes like Don Williams would be proud of this young fella.” Another said. Mostly, they said that he is the real deal. In an age of country music when anything goes, and there is nothing wrong with that, blokes like Anthony remind us of where it all comes from. The following is a snippet from his website. Get on board the Taylor train, you won’t be disappointed. You can help Anthony produce his first album. Details on his Facebook page.
